Many of us walk barefoot during the summer. While this may seem rather convenient, especially when at the pool or beach, it unfortunately leaves our feet unprotected and vulnerable to potentially stepping on objects that we refer to as foreign bodies. It can be a shard of glass, a piece of metal, or a splinter of wood. Stepping on these common foreign bodies can be very painful, and, in some cases, can lead to infection.

In our offices, we are fortunate to utilize very modern and advanced imaging to visualize foreign bodies, called fluoroscopy. Through the utilization of fluoroscopy, we are able to localize objects found in the feet by taking multiple images within a matter of seconds to obtain many different angles. This greatly assists our doctors in removing foreign bodies, preventing infection, and helping our patients to be pain free.
