Will P.A.D. Affect Me?

As the summer has come to an end and we have entered the fall season, it’s time to talk about the topic of circulation.  September is P.A.D. Awareness Month, reminding us to be mindful of peripheral artery disease (P.A.D.).  This primarily relates to the way our blood flows in our legs and in our feet.  Diabetes and obesity can have a significant effect upon P.A.D.

Please watch our brief video discussing P.A.D. and its effects upon the lower extremities:

As mentioned in our video, one can easily determine whether or not one has good circulation through vascular testing, which can easily be performed in our offices. It is very simple, non-invasive, and usually covered by insurance.  If you or someone you know needs their circulation checked, please call us for an appointment and we will be happy to accomodate.

Recently, I was quoted in the following publications regarding feet and footwear:

When it comes to footwear, we think of our annual community outreach program for the less fortunate.  Beginning on October 15th, our 17th Annual Holiday Shoe Drive for the Homeless will begin.  Our partners are the United Way of Westchester and Putnam and the United Way of Rockland.  Footwear of all types, especially children’s boots and sneakers, are greatly appreciated.  Please drop off all footwear at either of our office locations until December 15th.

.

We all at Progressive Foot Care wish you an enjoyable fall season.  Taking good care of your feet can be your first step towards good health.  Remember, your feet are the foundation for your body.

Yours in good health,
